Relaxing Cough Remedy
Relaxing Cough Remedy
A remedy to relax irritating, dry, and painful coughing, well used at bedtime to relax the cough reflex and allow for a more restful night’s sleep. Through relaxation, the cough may become normalized. This remedy will ideally be paired with demulcent teas, like our Moistening Tea to moisten the lungs, as well as stimulating expectorants to expel mucus once the cough becomes productive. Check out our Herbal Cough Care Bundle for a full spectrum of cough remedies, as the cough changes over the course of an illness.
----------
SUGGESTED USE // Relaxing an overactive, dry, irritating cough; relaxing the cough reflex overnight to get more restful sleep. Pairs well with demulcent teas to moisten the lungs. Do NOT use this remedy to suppress a productive (wet) cough unless it is to help the person sleep. Adults take 2 mL in a little water at bed time and as needed.
SERVING SIZE // 2 mL (15 doses per one oz. bottle)
Adjust the standard dose based on an individual’s weight. For example, for a 38 pound child, divide the standard adult weight of 150 pounds by the child’s weight.
38 lbs/150 lbs = .25
(.25) 2 mL = .5 mL per dose
Available in 1oz cobalt glass dropper bottles.
-----
CONTRAINDICATIONS // Not safe for pregnancy (lobelia). Not for long term tonic use as the herbs may impair digestion over time. Not recommended for children under 1 due to the very small amount of lobelia (2.3% of the formula). (Children under 1 will respond to gentler remedies.) In large doses lobelia can cause nausea and vomiting. We have used a tiny amount of lobelia so that you can take multiple doses without lobelia’s unwanted side effects. Should you experience nausea, pause dosing and space out or decrease doses.
