Ginger Elixir
Ginger Elixir
A digestive remedy, useful with poor circulation, fevers, sore throats, and motion sickness; an essential herb for your medicine chest for its ability to settle the stomach. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) also contains nearly a dozen antiviral compounds, some specific against the most common family of cold viruses, the rhinoviruses (Duke).
Ginger promotes gastric secretion and helps soothe indigestion, heartburn, flatulence, and colic. It is warming and stimulates peripheral circulation, helpful in cases of poor circulation.
This concentrated extract tastes bitingly sharp. In addition to its above uses, you might add a dropper to punch up a cocktail.
