Bright Bitters
Bright Bitters
Bitters are one of the herbalist's most valuable tools for improving digestion and assimilation of nutrients, and a valuable therapy for many health complaints.
Bitter is a commonly under-represented flavor in the modern diet, though bitter herbs and flavors were and remain an important part of traditional diets. Bitter flavors essentially prime your digestive tract to digest. Once ingested, taste bud receptors signal to nervous system, and in turn to the digestive system, get ready! Food is coming. The results are stimulation of appetite and production of digestive juices in the pancreas and liver, and an increase in the flow of bile from the liver. All of which aid in breaking down food and absorbing nutrients. Bitters also help the liver function optimally, assisting it in cleansing the body of toxins.
Bright Bitters are crafted from fresh gardened and wildgathered herbs plus fresh Organic orange peel to create a delightfully bright burst of flavor, and to send a wakeup call to the digestive tract. Orange flavor predominates, balanced with earthy, bitter herbs elecampane, burdock, and dandelion. Savor a dropper or just a couple of drops on the tongue before meals to enjoy the many benefits of a strong digestive fire.
Oh yes, a squeeze certainly won't hurt your Old Fashioned or your seltzer water either.
